Course Information

In this course, the students will first learn safety and sanitation in the kitchen. They will then learn the basics in cooking and baking. They will learn various cooking skills, concepts, and techniques that will help them be successful in the Culinary Arts/Food Service industry.

During Quarter 1, we worked on safety and sanitation, so that the students are ready for their food labs in the kitchen.  After the students pass their tests, they will be starting on basic baking skills, concepts, and techniques.

 

During Quarter 2, we will continue on building the students' baking skills, concepts, and techniques.  We will then transition to basic cooking skills, concepts, and techniques.  The students will be learning cutting skills, measuring skills, and various cooking methods.
