ACT

The Department of Education will continue to offer the ACT college admissions exam for high school Juniors in SY 2023-24. The exam is being offered to support schools and students’ college and career preparation to meet our Strategic Plan Goal 1, Objective 1: “All students are empowered in their learning to set and achieve their aspirations for the future.” To expand options for students and to support schools, the Department will cover the cost of the ACT college admissions exam.

What is the ACT?
"The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. It is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test on English, Math, Reading, and Science, along with one essay in the Writing section.  The purpose of the ACT test is to measure a high school student's readiness for college and provide colleges with once common data point that can be used to compare all applicants."
