General Learner Outcomes (GLO's)

GLO #1 - Self-directed Learner (The ability to be responsible for one's own learning)
  • students are made aware of google classroom access at the start of the school year and reminded during every class day, and need to refer to the class stream to see what activities/assignments were covered during any class day (which is useful for days absent or planning at looking ahead)
 
GLO #2 - Community Contributor (The understanding that it is essential for human beings to work together)
  • not only are students made to work with their peers during group projects throughout the year, but the Travel academy class students work in their assigned specific departments with their peers and practically run the extra-curricular portion of the academy program for the year
 
GLO #3 - Complex Thinker (The ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving)
  • throughout the school year, students are given a variety of assignments/projects that require students to comprehend learned knowledge, and also expound on these with higher order thinking extensions given
 
GLO #4 - Quality Producer (The ability to recognize and produce quality performance and quality products)
  • students are exposed to both samples of previous student work, as well as made aware of current examples submitted by their peers, along with teacher created examples of assignments to refer to
 
GLO #5 - Effective Communicator (The ability to communicate effectively)
  • to go along with the example of GLO#2 above, students work with peers in group and departments tasks and assignments, and present on numerous student created presentation throughout the year
 
GLO #6 - Effective and Ethical User of Technology (The ability to use a variety of technologies effectively and ethically)
  • a requirement for these classes are having a computer to get into google classroom and the ICEV online program, as well as navigating the internet for research on assignments, and creating presentations via Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Canva
